Our client is seeking an Export Sales Manager for the Chinese market, responsible for developing and executing sales strategies tailored to China.
Responsibilities
- Conducting in-depth research on consumer behaviour, trends, and demand in the Chinese market to identify new opportunities.
- Developing and implementing a targeted export strategy specifically for China, considering the cultural, economic, and competitive landscape.
- Collaborating with marketing to adapt promotional strategies, digital campaigns, and brand positioning to fit local preferences.
- Identifying, approaching, and building relationships with key distributors, agents, and customers in China.
- Driving B2B sales growth by creating and executing a pipeline of potential Chinese clients.
- Managing negotiations on pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules to close deals with Chinese customers.
- Ensuring compliance with China’s regulatory framework, including customs, product registration, certifications, and tariffs.
- Working with logistics and compliance teams to complete accurate and timely documentation, handling specific labelling or packaging requirements.
- Developing and nurturing long-term relationships with Chinese clients to ensure high customer retention.
- Attending trade shows, exhibitions, and networking events in China to promote the company and increase brand visibility.
- Leveraging platforms like WeChat, Alibaba, and other local networks to engage with clients and promote products effectively.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in export sales with a focus on China or the broader APAC region; knowledge of the Chinese market is essential.
- Fluency in Mandarin (optional but highly advantageous) or experience working in China.
- Strong understanding of Chinese business culture and consumer behaviour.
- Proficiency in CRM systems and digital tools commonly used in China, including WeChat and Alibaba platforms.
- Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills, adaptable to diverse cultural settings.
- Results-oriented and proactive attitude.
- Compliance and regulatory knowledge in China.
- Effective communication and relationship-building skills.
