Key Responsibilities
The Senior Test Development Engineer is responsible for developing testing technologies for new products. This includes planning, creating, and implementing test systems for products. Testing covers all stages of production, from circuit boards (PCBA) to finished products. The role involves using a variety of testing methods, such as in-circuit tests (ICT), functional tests, boundary scan tests, and both manual and automated systems.
The work involves handling projects for local and global markets, with products manufactured at various locations worldwide.
Responsibilities
- Analyzing customer requirements, legal regulations, and internal specifications for application in testing strategies of products.
- Estimating test strategies and costs during the Request for Quotation (RFQ) phase of new business.
- Working with the Design Team to analyze new designs and develop test specifications.
- Designing and developing complex test programs, processes, and systems to measure product functionality and integrity in electrical and programming domains.
- Analyzing test cases and failures, providing scenarios, and proposing actions based on results.
- Checking product software and test methodology/coverage during DFT Design Review, with interaction from R&D.
- Reviewing technical issues and planning the development of functional testers.
- Performing validation, assessing capabilities, test coverage, and stability performance of testers.
- Validating assembly line concepts, cycle times, and investment values on each CAA.
- Contributing to product and process FMEA, assisting testing technicians in daily activities.
- Supporting the transition of newly developed processes into series production by providing process/equipment specifications and qualifications.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Electronic, Mechatronic, or Computer Engineering field.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in electronic product testing.
- Experience in launching new products and familiarity with new project development procedures.
- Experience in developing test specifications, test solutions, and test requirements.
- Familiarity with DFT/DFM is preferred.
- Experience with embedded software, different microcontroller platforms (Freescale, Renesas, etc.), and buses (CAN, LIN, MOST, etc.).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; diplomatic and persuasive.
