Position Summary
The Sales Manager/Director for the Chemical sector will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies to grow market share, increase revenue, and strengthen the company’s position within the chemical industry. This role involves managing key accounts, leading a sales team, and working closely with marketing and technical teams to drive customer satisfaction and business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales Strategy Development: Developing and implementing a comprehensive sales strategy, identifying target markets, forecasting sales goals, and aligning resources to meet objectives.
- Market Expansion: Identifying new business opportunities, building relationships with potential customers, and expanding the company’s presence in targeted markets within the chemical industry.
- Team Leadership: Leading, mentoring, and managing a team of sales professionals, setting targets, conducting performance reviews, and providing coaching to enhance their effectiveness.
- Key Account Management: Managing relationships with key clients, understanding their needs and ensuring that the company provides exceptional service, products, and solutions to meet their business objectives.
- Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: Working closely with marketing, R&D, and technical teams to develop customized solutions and ensure alignment in delivering client expectations.
- Revenue and Profitability Management: Monitoring and reporting on sales metrics, adjusting strategies as needed, and ensuring the team meets or exceeds revenue and profitability targets.
- Market Research and Competitive Analysis: Staying updated on industry trends, competitive products, and innovations within the chemical industry to position the company effectively in the marketplace.
- Customer Relationship Management: Utilizing CRM tools to manage client relationships, track sales activities, and ensure data accuracy for reporting and analysis.
Qualifications
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. An advanced degree (e.g., MBA) is a plus.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in sales management within the chemical or related industries.
- Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets and growing market share in a competitive environment.
- Experience in managing and mentoring sales teams.
- Skills and Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of the chemical industry, including products, regulations, and market dynamics.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Analytical and strategic thinking abilities, with the capacity to make data-driven decisions.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
