Job Description
- Ensuring timely execution of customs processes, including HS code assessment, origin determination, and regulatory compliance under Import & Export Control regulations.
- Overseeing HS classification using the Classifier tool and managing third-party system integration.
- Leading preferential origin calculations for finished goods.
- Coordinating with local teams and third parties on origin determination and documentation, ensuring alignment with global trade compliance policies.
- Engaging with third-party customs brokers and enforcing systematic audit practices.
- Serving as the primary liaison with Thai customs and government agencies; leading trusted trader programs as applicable.
- Providing training and guidance to stakeholders on regulatory updates and compliance best practices.
- Leading continuous improvement initiatives in customs and trade compliance, identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
Qualifications
- Experienced in Customs and Trade in the chemical business.
- Experience in trade automation, global trade management systems/software, and data analysis tools, particularly SAP Global Trade Services and Excel.
- Proficient in Customs valuation and classification according to the Harmonized Tariff Schedule, and HS code, including FTA, export controls, and other technical aspects of international trade.
- Strong leadership skills, self-motivation, and problem-solving abilities.
- Holding a Customs Specialist certificate is advantageous.
- Willing to travel for work both domestically and internationally.
