Job Description
Our client is a leading automobile parts supplier to the world’s automotive manufacturers.
Responsibilities:
The Production Manager will report directly to the Thai Factory Manager and will be responsible for managing overall production operations, including:
- Planning, scheduling, and prioritizing work to meet delivery schedules and quality standards, while providing technical support and serving as a resource person in the production area and across departments.
- Assisting in defining the design of current and future products, helping to establish work processes and procedures, and making recommendations on manpower requirements.
- Ensuring a safe working environment, reviewing and selecting special tooling and equipment, and becoming involved in sourcing materials needed for client orders.
- Controlling production to meet programmed delivery dates and optimizing wastage, downtime, and stock levels.
- Managing day-to-day priorities regarding production requirements for clients' sheet metal products with suppliers, manufacturers, and internally within the clients' assembly processes.
- Monitoring production and unit costs, facilitating cost-reduction measures in both product and production processes, together with other managers, suppliers, and customers.
- Revising existing drawings as per request and creating drawings of products that meet customer requirements.
- Performing other activities as directed by management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- At least 8-10 years of experience in a management role, ideally in a medium-volume and low-cost manufacturing process, with hands-on knowledge and experience in welding, bending, sheet metal, pressing, stamping, and laser cutting processes from the automotive industry.
- Strong knowledge of production management, production techniques, equipment, and tooling.
- Understanding of productivity, cost control, and basic profit and loss.
- Strong management, analytical, strategic thinking, problem-solving, leadership, decision-making, and communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Good command of spoken and written English.
