Job Summary:
The Lean Engineer will be responsible for driving process improvements and operational efficiencies within the organization by using lean manufacturing principles and methodologies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in continuous improvement, waste reduction, and process optimization, with a passion for enhancing productivity, quality, and safety across the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading Lean Initiatives: Developing and implementing lean strategies to improve processes, reduce waste, and enhance overall operational efficiency. This includes value stream mapping, 5S, Kaizen events, and root cause analysis.
- Improving Processes: Identifying areas for improvement and leading cross-functional teams to implement improvements using lean tools such as Kaizen, Six Sigma, and 5S.
- Training & Mentorship: Educating and training employees at all levels on lean principles, tools, and methodologies to foster a culture of continuous improvement across the organization.
- Analyzing Data & Reporting: Analyzing production data and performance metrics to identify trends and provide recommendations for improvement. Preparing reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) and lean project progress.
- Managing Projects: Leading and managing improvement projects from inception to completion, ensuring that timelines, budgets, and objectives are met.
- Collaborating with Teams: Working closely with engineering, operations, and quality control teams to ensure lean initiatives align with overall business goals.
- Monitoring and Evaluating: Tracking the success of lean initiatives and adjusting strategies as needed to ensure the achievement of targeted improvements.
- Supporting Safety and Compliance: Ensuring that all lean initiatives are conducted in compliance with safety standards and company regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in a manufacturing or operations environment, with a strong background in lean principles and continuous improvement.
- Lean Expertise: Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing principles and tools (e.g., 5S, Kaizen, VSM).
- Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to identify root causes and develop effective solutions for complex operational issues.
Preferred Skills:
- Certification in Lean Six Sigma or similar process improvement methodologies.
- Experience in the automotive sector is a plus.
- Proficiency with data analysis and reporting tools, such as Microsoft Excel, Power BI, or similar software.
