Job Description

One of our clients, the biggest EMS company, is looking for Senior NPI Engineers to drive the successful introduction of new products into manufacturing.

This role involves coordinating cross-functional teams, optimizing production processes, and ensuring smooth product launches while maintaining quality, cost, and timeline goals.

Job Purpose:

  • Leading New Product Introduction (NPI) projects, ensuring a smooth transition from development to mass production.
  • Coordinating cross-functional teams to ensure project timelines, quality, and cost targets are met.
  • Driving DFM/DFA assessments to align design with manufacturing capabilities.
  • Overseeing prototype builds, validation testing, and production ramp-up.
  • Acting as the primary interface with customers, ensuring project expectations and deliverables are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • NPI Project Management

    • Developing and maintaining project schedules, ensuring milestones are met.
    • Managing resource planning and budget control for NPI projects.
    • Conducting project risk assessments and implementing mitigation strategies.
    • Ensuring smooth handover from engineering to production.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration

    • Working closely with R&D, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams to align project goals.
    • Ensuring procurement and supplier readiness for new product launches.
    • Driving technical issue resolution with engineering and production teams.
  • Prototype & Validation

    • Overseeing prototype builds and sample validation.
    • Ensuring testing and validation plans meet customer and regulatory requirements.
    • Analyzing test results and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Continuous Improvement & Change Management

    • Driving process optimization for efficiency and cost reduction.
    • Managing engineering change requests (ECRs) and supplier change notices (SCNs).
    • Monitoring and reporting key performance indicators (KPIs) related to NPI projects.
  • Customer & Stakeholder Communication

    • Acting as the primary customer contact for NPI projects.
    • Providing regular project updates to internal and external stakeholders.
    • Ensuring customer requirements and expectations are met.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial) or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in NPI, project management, or manufacturing engineering.
  • Strong project management skills, including scheduling, budgeting, and risk assessment.
  • Experience in DFM/DFA assessments and process validation.
  • Excellent cross-functional leadership and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, ERP systems, and project management tools.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Fluent in English communication.
