Responsibilities
The Material Planner is an essential part of the manufacturing team, ensuring the flow of materials necessary for all manufacturing operations. These planners ensure that the company never runs out of critical manufacturing materials.
- Creating, managing, and releasing production orders daily to achieve the production plan and meet customers' requested delivery dates.
- Communicating the production plan to the supervisors and assemblers through daily meetings and visual control boards.
- Analyzing MRP reports and taking appropriate actions to verify that production line delivery aligns with minimum stock targets and logistics costs.
- Communicating with suppliers on the forecast and anticipating risks that may arise during the operation.
- Optimizing inventory value.
- Monitoring supplier delivery performance to ensure the due dates remain on plan.
- Improving stock accuracy issues on time.
- Improving inventory value to meet company targets.
- Coordinating the procurement of materials for new products by maintaining schedules and status reports.
- Verifying that Sales and Production Plan (PIC) capacity requirements can be supported by suppliers and implementing corrective actions when necessary.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field (preferred).
- At least 5 years of working experience in a Material Planning role within automotive and electronic part manufacturing.
- Experience in SAP is an advantage.
- Advanced troubleshooting and communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel).
- Good command of English communication.
