Role Summary:
This role requires a strategic leader overseeing all Human Resources functions, focusing on advancing organizational development and enhancing employment branding. The General Manager will play a key role in driving cultural transformation, change management, and operational excellence while ensuring smooth labor union relations and compliance with legal and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Human Resources Management:
- Overseeing recruitment, payroll, training, and employee relations functions.
- Ensuring legal compliance and adherence to safety regulations.
- Organizational Development:
- Designing and implementing initiatives to enhance employee engagement and organizational structure.
- Driving cultural evolution towards operational excellence and talent development.
- Compensation & Benefits:
- Aligning compensation and benefits structures with roles and responsibilities across organizational levels.
- Performance Management:
- Establishing and maintaining a robust KPI system to evaluate and improve employee performance.
- Labor Relations:
- Balancing and maintaining healthy union relationships while focusing on organizational goals.
- Addressing challenges arising from union dynamics, including negotiation and compliance.
- Strategic Planning:
- Collaborating with top management to align HR strategies with overall business objectives.
- Implementing talent assessment programs to enhance workforce quality and manage potential workforce restructuring.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Proven track record in organizational development and change management, particularly in environments with labour unions.
- Expertise in talent acquisition, talent management, development, and training.
- Experience in implementing KPI systems and aligning compensation & benefits structures.
- Excellent persuasion, negotiation, and communication skills across all organizational levels.
- Strong, results-oriented leadership with accountability and approachability.
- Proficiency in English (Japanese language skills are an advantage).
