Role Summary:

This role requires a strategic leader overseeing all Human Resources functions, focusing on advancing organizational development and enhancing employment branding. The General Manager will play a key role in driving cultural transformation, change management, and operational excellence while ensuring smooth labor union relations and compliance with legal and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Human Resources Management:
    • Overseeing recruitment, payroll, training, and employee relations functions.
    • Ensuring legal compliance and adherence to safety regulations.
  • Organizational Development:
    • Designing and implementing initiatives to enhance employee engagement and organizational structure.
    • Driving cultural evolution towards operational excellence and talent development.
  • Compensation & Benefits:
    • Aligning compensation and benefits structures with roles and responsibilities across organizational levels.
  • Performance Management:
    • Establishing and maintaining a robust KPI system to evaluate and improve employee performance.
  • Labor Relations:
    • Balancing and maintaining healthy union relationships while focusing on organizational goals.
    • Addressing challenges arising from union dynamics, including negotiation and compliance.
  • Strategic Planning:
    • Collaborating with top management to align HR strategies with overall business objectives.
    • Implementing talent assessment programs to enhance workforce quality and manage potential workforce restructuring.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Proven track record in organizational development and change management, particularly in environments with labour unions.
  • Expertise in talent acquisition, talent management, development, and training.
  • Experience in implementing KPI systems and aligning compensation & benefits structures.
  • Excellent persuasion, negotiation, and communication skills across all organizational levels.
  • Strong, results-oriented leadership with accountability and approachability.
  • Proficiency in English (Japanese language skills are an advantage).
