Job Description

Our client is at the forefront of Data Center development in Thailand.

They're seeking a highly skilled Procurement Manager with experience in sourcing and purchasing critical data centre infrastructure components, including generators, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), HVAC systems, and networking equipment. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the market, pricing trends, and supplier landscapes for these essential components, as well as strong negotiation and vendor management skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Procurement Strategy: Developing and implementing procurement strategies for critical data centre infrastructure that align with company goals for cost efficiency, quality, and reliability.
  • Supplier Management: Identifying and managing relationships with key suppliers of data centre infrastructure components, such as generators, UPS, HVAC systems, power distribution units (PDUs), and networking hardware.
  • Cost Analysis and Negotiation: Conducting cost analysis for all major equipment purchases, ensuring the best possible pricing through negotiation and bulk purchasing agreements.
  • Contract Management: Drafting, negotiating, and reviewing contracts with suppliers to secure favourable terms and ensure compliance with regulatory standards and company policies.
  • Market Analysis: Regularly monitoring industry trends and pricing fluctuations in critical infrastructure components to ensure competitive procurement.
  • Risk Mitigation: Evaluating and mitigating risks related to supply chain disruptions, focusing on maintaining a steady supply of essential components for uninterrupted data centre operations.
  • Inventory and Demand Planning: Collaborating with operations teams to forecast demand for infrastructure components and maintain optimal inventory levels.
  • Compliance and Sustainability: Ensuring all procured goods comply with safety and environmental standards, supporting the company’s sustainability goals where applicable.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Working closely with data centre operations, engineering, and finance teams to align procurement activities with project timelines and budget requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in procurement, with a focus on critical infrastructure for data centres or similar industries such as construction.
  • Strong knowledge of data centre infrastructure components, including generators, UPS, HVAC, and electrical systems.
  • Proven experience in cost analysis, vendor management, and contract negotiation.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems.
  • Excellent English communication, and interpersonal skills, with a strong ability to negotiate and build supplier relationships.
