Job Summary

The Commissioning Manager is responsible for overseeing the commissioning process for Data Center construction projects. This role ensures all mechanical, electrical, and operational systems are tested, verified, and meet the required performance standards. The ideal candidate has 10-15 years of experience in commissioning management and brings a strong technical background in Data Centers or similar mission-critical facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Commissioning Agent (CxA) Engagement
    • Supporting the contracting, selection, and onboarding process for CxA.
    • Reviewing and shortlisting CxA candidates, coordinating interviews, and participating in the selection process.
    • Assisting in creating and managing the Request for Proposal (RFP) process for CxA contracting.
  • Project Setup and Kickoff
    • Attending project kickoff meetings and providing the CxA with access to required documentation and resources.
    • Ensuring the project structure on platforms such as Google Shared Drive is properly organized for commissioning documents.
  • Site Visits
    • Performing regular site visits to monitor progress and support commissioning activities on greenfield sites.
    • Participating in onsite quality and commissioning inspections, ensuring that project standards are met.
  • Reporting and Documentation
    • Overseeing weekly reports, monthly project updates, and tracking completion statuses for all commissioning stages.
    • Managing commissioning dashboards, tracking CxA costs, and updating stakeholders on project milestones.
  • Schedule Management
    • Review ingcommissioning schedules, verify resource requirements, and ensure alignment with overall project timelines.
    • Attending scheduling meetings, updating regional trackers, and managing timeline adjustments as needed.
  • Issue Resolution and Risk Management
    • Acting as the escalation point for any project issues, risks, or delays affecting commissioning milestones.
    • Participating in risk assessments, quality inspections, and commissioning tests for mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Change Orders and Continuous Improvement
    • Evaluating and managing commissioning change orders, and participating in lessons learned sessions to improve processes.
    • Collaborating with quality teams to refine commissioning checklists and tools.
  • Tool and Platform Management
    • Serving as an administrator for BIM360 and other project management tools, ensuring accurate logging and issue resolution.
    • Training project stakeholders in using BIM360 for tracking commissioning issues and completing checklists.
  • Project Close-Out
    • Verifying completion of all close-out deliverables, ensuring documentation and lessons learned are recorded.
    • Supporting post-project reviews to carry over insights to future projects.

Requirements

  • 10-15 years of experience in commissioning management, particularly within Data Centers or critical infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of commissioning processes, technical standards, and project management tools.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage cross-functional teams and coordinate complex schedules.
