About the Role
Our prestigious client is looking for an experienced Lead CSA Engineer / CSA Manager with specific expertise in Data Center construction to manage and oversee the civil, structural, and architectural aspects of our high-stakes Data Center projects. This role requires extensive knowledge of Data Center requirements, including site planning, structural integrity, building codes, and security standards. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in Data Center construction, delivering projects that meet the highest standards for safety, reliability, and operational readiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Planning and Coordination
- Leading the planning, design, and execution of all CSA aspects in Data Center construction, ensuring adherence to project goals, timelines, and quality standards.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including MEP, electrical, and operations, to integrate CSA requirements seamlessly into the overall project.
- Site Development and Civil Engineering
- Overseeing site preparation, including excavation, grading, and foundations, to ensure proper support for Data Center infrastructure.
- Ensuring that civil works align with Data Center requirements for weight-bearing capacity, drainage, and site security.
- Structural Design and Integrity
- Managing the design and construction of structural elements, ensuring buildings are robust, reliable, and able to support heavy loads of Data Center equipment.
- Ensuring structural redundancy and risk mitigation against environmental factors (e.g., seismic activity, extreme weather) to protect critical operations.
- Architectural Coordination
- Overseeing architectural aspects of Data Center design, including space layout, fireproofing, and access control.
- Ensuring that the design adheres to local building codes, security standards, and industry best practices for Data Centers.
- Compliance and Quality Assurance
- Maintaining compliance with all relevant codes and standards, including building codes, safety regulations, and industry-specific Data Center standards.
- Implementing quality control measures, and conducting regular inspections to ensure construction aligns with design specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Resource and Budget Management
- Managing CSA-related project budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources while meeting quality and safety standards.
- Coordinating with procurement teams to source materials and services that meet Data Center requirements.
- Risk Management and Safety
- Identifying and mitigating potential risks associated with CSA components, including structural vulnerabilities, safety hazards, and environmental factors.
- Ensuring that safety protocols are followed throughout construction, conducting regular audits and safety training for on-site personnel.
- Documentation and Reporting
- Maintaining comprehensive documentation of all CSA work, including design plans, inspection reports, and compliance certifications.
- Providing regular project updates to stakeholders, highlighting progress, potential issues, and solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- 10-15+ years of experience in CSA management, with direct experience in Data Center/construction.
- Strong knowledge of Data Center-specific requirements for civil, structural, and architectural systems, including redundancy, load-bearing structures, and site security.
- Proven track record in managing large-scale CSA projects, including quality control, risk management, and adherence to safety standards.
- Familiarity with industry standards and codes, including local building codes, Data Center security standards, and environmental requirements.
- Excellent project management skills and the ability to coordinate complex, multi-disciplinary teams.
