- MEP Systems Oversight
- Managing the installation and commissioning of HVAC, electrical distribution, cooling towers, plumbing, fire suppression, and other MEP systems, ensuring they meet the specific demands of Data Center operations.
- Ensuring that MEP systems are designed and configured for optimal redundancy (e.g., N+1, 2N) to maintain continuous operation.
- Quality Control and Compliance
- Enforcing quality standards and compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards (such as Uptime Institute, ASHRAE, and NFPA) throughout the project.
- Conducting regular inspections and tests on MEP systems to validate their functionality, efficiency, and compliance.
- Budget and Resource Management

- Risk Management and Troubleshooting
- Identifying and mitigating potential risks to MEP systems, including load fluctuations, temperature control, and electrical redundancy.
- Leading the response to MEP-related issues during construction and commissioning, ensuring quick and effective troubleshooting and problem resolution.
- Energy Efficiency and Sustainability
- Implementing best practices for energy-efficient and sustainable MEP designs, exploring options for energy-saving technologies and systems.
- Tracking and optimising energy use within the MEP systems, aligning with the organization’s sustainability goals.
- Documentation and Reporting
- Maintaining detailed documentation for all MEP installations, testing, commissioning, and compliance certifications.
- Preparing and presenting regular reports on MEP progress, system performance, and project status to stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Engineering, or a related field.
- 10-15+ years of experience in MEP management, with direct experience in Data Centers or construction.
- Strong knowledge of Data Center-specific MEP systems, including HVAC, power distribution, plumbing, and fire protection.
- Proven experience managing large-scale MEP installations, quality control, and system commissioning.
- Familiarity with industry standards and codes, such as ASHRAE, NFPA, and Uptime Institute standards.
- Excellent project management and team coordination skills.
