Our client is a global automotive parts manufacturer.
Responsibilities
- Preparing RFQ for the raw materials localization and relocation, projects, departments, project materials, consumables, fixed assets, equipment, services and subcontracts.
- Implementing the VA-VE program with handling approval PCR process.
- Ensuring the validation of all changes meets engineering-specific requirements.
- Providing and reviewing engineering specifications, concerned documents, etc. which are necessary for new models, parts, and projects to communicate with suppliers.
- Analyzing and negotiating supplier’s quotation descriptions including suppliers tooling life concept and setting up present source recommendation activity.
- Coordinating with the local project team and ARB with related supplier material supply requirements.
- Souring new potential suppliers is also key of responsible to organize evaluation process.
- Managing new material on time with a new project launching and making sure that material is enough for the first production stage consumption requirement.
- Creating and taking the key responsibility for handling annual cost reduction activity effectively.
- Representing attention to the cross-functional team involved in the new project development (Procurement functional).
- Shooting new supplier product development concerns with the responsible material community.
- Being up to date weekly worksheet reporting to the supervisor/manager.
- Improving and following up about supplier problems to prevent production shutdown, quality problems or any problem that occurred after the PILOT RUN stage.
- Purchasing & Procurement official document generating and creation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- At least 3 years of experience in Purchasing, Procurement Engineer roles in automotive manufacturing.
- Skilled in conducting cost-saving initiatives, particularly those involving VAVE and the use of locally sourced materials.
- Experience in costing or original design manufacturing is preferable.
- Good communication, negotiation, interpersonal and influencing skills
- Good command of spoken and written English
- Project management, ISO 9001 or IATF 16949 knowledge will be preferred.
- Computer literate, in Microsoft Office; word, excel and PowerPoint.
