The Head or Senior Manager of Product Development is responsible for leading the advancement and refinement of life insurance products to drive growth and address customer needs. Key duties include market research, product design, cross-functional teamwork, and strategic planning to ensure the company’s products are both competitive and compliant.
Key Responsibilities
- Developing and implementing strategies for product development that support the company’s overall objectives.
- Preparing detailed development plans and timelines for new products.
- Overseeing the complete product development process, from idea generation and design to implementation and market introduction for both individual and group insurance products.
- Evaluating market trends, customer needs, competitor offerings, and industry conditions to find opportunities for new products or improvements.
- Launching and managing marketing campaigns through various channels (digital, print, events, etc.) to boost life insurance product visibility.
- Designing and presenting product concepts and business cases to executive management.
- Coordinating with different departments to ensure effective product launches and market entry.
- Working with legal and compliance teams to guarantee all products adhere to regulatory standards.
- Compiling and delivering reports on product performance, trends, and strategic recommendations.
- Guiding and assisting team members on product development projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Sciences, Statistics, Marketing, or a related field.
- 5-7 years of experience in product development or product marketing within the life insurance industry.
- In-depth knowledge of life insurance products, industry regulations and market trends.
- Exceptional project management and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis, market research and strategic planning.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects effectively.
