Our client is a global manufacturer based in Thailand and looking for an R&D director.
Seeking someone who will be a strategic thinker with a proven track record of successfully driving research initiatives, fostering a culture of creativity, and delivering groundbreaking products or solutions.
Responsibilities
- Focusing on applying thermal management principles to electric vehicle applications by working closely with customers to understand their requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Having a strong understanding and technical expertise of refrigeration principles Develop HVAC refrigeration and airflow systems to meet performance requirements, regulatory requirements, quality goals, and cost targets.
- Reviewing and understanding the technical feasibility of the product and internal requirements.
- Completing system integration tasks including engineering design, layouts and design reviews.
- Designing and selecting robust and cost-effective parts and developing or updating Engineering specifications.
- Providing technical support to EV applications.
- Specifying test requirements to the R&D team to validate prototype performance.
- Serving as a main point of contact for all EV applications.
- Supporting the entire life cycle including; spec development, prototype builds, pilot tests, and production.
- Performing other duties as needed.
- Conducting hearings to resolve or settle grievances.
- Supervising subordinates to follow the company’s rules and standard documents.
- Ensuring the employees maintain the 5S and housekeeping.
- Being committed to the development, implementation and maintenance of the required quality standards systems IATF16949 and ISO14001 as well as the Safety Management system.
Requirements
- Bachelors or better in Engineering or related field Preferred Bachelors or better in Mechanical Engineering or related field Bachelors or better in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 2 - 4 years: Working knowledge of automotive HVAC systems including compressors, HVAC units, fluid transfer components, and vehicle performance testing.
- 2 year(s): Knowledge of heat transfer, fluid dynamics and thermal management.
- 1 - 3 years: Experience developing refrigeration circuits for battery thermal management and/or HVAC applications - condensers, evaporators or compressors etc.
- Knowledge of systems integration is preferred.
- Knowledge of the EV market is a plus.
- 1 - 2 years: Technical knowledge of high voltage batteries or electronics components.
- Detail-oriented: Capable of carrying out a given task with all details necessary to get the task done well.
