Job Purpose
The Head of Risk Management, Credit Management & Credit Control is responsible for formulating strategies and overseeing risks related to credit, securities trading, and the operations of the securities company. The primary objective is preventing potential losses to the company and its clients. This role involves conducting comprehensive risk analysis, developing proactive prevention strategies, and leveraging technology to enhance risk control efficiency.
Responsibilities
Enterprise Risk Management
- Establishing risk management policies and frameworks in alignment with regulations and best practices.
- Monitoring and managing all types of risks, including credit risk, market risk, operational risk, and regulatory risk.
- Developing risk management tools and processes to identify, assess, monitor, and mitigate potential risks.
- Preparing risk reports and presenting them to the executive committee while coordinating with regulatory bodies.
Credit Risk Management
- Defining credit policies and controlling credit limits to mitigate default risks.
- Assessing and monitoring clients' financial status and investment behaviour to minimize credit exposure.
- Managing risks related to margin lending and derivatives using risk analysis tools.
- Overseeing the credit evaluation and approval process to ensure compliance with established criteria.
Credit Control
- Continuously monitoring and auditing client accounts to ensure compliance with credit terms.
- Reviewing credit usage and implementing corrective measures in cases of liquidity issues or breaches of credit agreements.
- Implementing automated alert systems for margin calls and debt default management.
- Collaborating with legal and operations teams to resolve non-performing loans.
Trading & Market Risk Management
- Developing and implementing real-time monitoring systems to minimize trading errors.
- Tracking and analyzing market volatility and factors that may impact client and company portfolios.
- Designing hedging and diversification strategies to mitigate market risks.
- Assessing risks from derivative transactions and complex fixed-income instruments.
Operational & Regulatory Risk Management
- Ensuring company operations comply with regulations from the SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission), SET (Stock Exchange of Thailand), and other regulatory bodies.
- Controlling risks arising from internal processes, technology systems, and business operations.
- Providing training and guidance to employees on risk management best practices and regulatory compliance measures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8–10 years in Risk Management, Credit Management, or Credit Control within the securities industry or financial institutions.
- Strong understanding of the regulations of the SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission), SET (Stock Exchange of Thailand), the Bank of Thailand (BOT), and other regulatory bodies.
- Proficiency in using risk management tools such as Value at Risk (VaR), Stress Testing, and Market Surveillance Tools.
- Certifications (Preferred): Possession of relevant licenses such as CFA, FRM, or CPA will be considered an advantage.
