Our client, a global leader in sugar manufacturing based in Thailand, is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Costing Manager to join their team.
This role will involve occasional travel to the company’s upcountry base.
Job Description:
- Overseeing inventory counts to ensure alignment with the monthly counting plan.
- Ensuring the accuracy of inventory records by reconciling discrepancies between site confirmations and accounting records, making necessary adjustments.
- Verifying records of product receipts and dispatches related to production.
- Reviewing and managing month-end processes, differentiating standard costs from variances.
- Updating and reviewing Bill of Materials (BOM) to reflect actual costs.
- Verifying accounting entries generated during the month-end process.
- Reconciling general ledger (GL) accounts with stock reports.
- Verifying and reviewing inventory quantities and values for cost calculations.
- Reviewing and verifying production cost-related expenses incurred during the period.
- Ensuring proper allocation of expenses to products produced during the period.
- Verifying the accuracy of calculated costs and associated accounting entries.
- Preparing comprehensive reports on production costs, cost of sales, and standard costs.
- Analyzing cost data to ensure it accurately reflects financial performance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience in cost accounting at the managerial level, preferably in manufacturing or a public company (PCL).
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Good command of English.
- Willingness to travel to other provinces as required.
