Job Purpose:
- Developing, implementing, and overseeing Quality Control, Material and Product Quality, as well as Safety and Food Safety Systems to ensure compliance with Food Laws/Regulations, Food Quality & Safety standards, company guidelines, and customer expectations.
- Supervising and ensuring all Quality Assurance (QA) activities align with established procedures.
- Supporting and understanding company policies and overseeing the development of environmental and safety systems within the team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Overseeing quality control for incoming raw materials, packaging materials, batching, finished product loading, cleaning chemicals, and pest management programs, ensuring compliance with specifications and regulatory/customer requirements.
- Ensuring adherence to the Quality System and Food Safety System to meet regulatory, company, religious (e.g., Halal, Kosher, Halal MUI), and customer requirements, including standards like BRC, SQMS, GMP/HACCP, and customer guidelines.
- Reporting promptly any critical product quality or food safety issues to the relevant stakeholders, investigating the root cause, and collaborating with all necessary parties to implement corrective actions.
- Developing and proposing QA budgets and resources to adequately support product quality, quality systems, and food safety systems for approval by the Manufacturing Director.
- Approving purchase orders for inspection equipment, tools, cleaning chemicals, and QA supplies.
- In the absence of the Assistant FSQS Manager, assuming responsibility for controlling non-conforming products, recalls, and traceability.
- Performing any additional tasks as assigned by the Manufacturing Director.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Food Science, Chemical Science, Biotechnology, or a related field.
- Strong organizational skills in Quality Control and Assurance.
- Proficiency in English and computer applications.
- In-depth knowledge of Food Safety and Quality Systems in line with GFSI standards (e.g., BRC, FSSC22000).
- At least 5 years of experience in Quality Control and Assurance.
