Our client manufactures consumable goods internationally.
Responsibilities:
Purchasing:
- Managing raw material and purchase part SKU parameterization, ensuring the strategy aligns with business requirements while developing a purchasing strategy.
- Researching to determine the best products and suppliers in terms of value, delivery schedules, and quality.
- Building and maintaining good relationships with new and existing suppliers.
- Controlling the approved vendor list by keeping contract files for future reference, producing reports and statistics, reviewing performance, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Negotiating and agreeing on contracts, monitoring contract management, and ensuring quality service delivery. Processing any supply/logistics provider complaints.
- Checking invoices against source documents and correcting any errors.
- Forecasting price trends and their impact on future activities.
- Reconciling additional costs for inbound raw material logistics.
- Coordinating with all departments in the head office to resolve issues that may cause delays in the supply process. Maintaining effective working relationships with suppliers and resolving conflicts on time.
- Investigating and coordinating product recalls and pulling affected equipment/supplies.
Warehouse & Logistics:
- Leading and supervising inventory control, including raw materials and finished goods, through cycle counting and inventory policies. Ensuring storage facilities are secure, clean, and well-maintained. Overseeing physical inventory counts as needed and recording timely and accurate data in company data management systems.
- Keeping a constant check on stock levels.
- Being responsible for measuring and reporting supply base performance for on-time delivery, lead time, and order quantity.
- Serving as the first level of escalation for shortages and expediting resolution and recovery.
- Developing the supply base using lean methodology, ensuring their processes and systems align with company requirements and maintaining operational excellence.
- Assisting in regular system validation and maintaining the manufacturing database for optimum use and accurate reporting by auditing against inventory.
- Ensuring accurate recordkeeping to track incoming and outgoing inventory, preparing forms, and maintaining thorough records in company data management systems. Providing accurate and up-to-date digital and physical inventory records for regular reporting.
Import & Export:
- Managing BOI and Free Trade Zone activities for the company.
- Monitoring current BOI and Free Trade certifications to ensure compliance with BOI and Free Trade regulations and international policies.
- Handling BOI and Free Trade applications and preparing documents for new products.
- Submitting applications to obtain tax refunds within the required lead time.
- Preparing import documentation (AWB, BL, BOI, etc.) and coordinating with the shipping agent for customs clearance.
- Providing ongoing coaching and development for team members, coordinating training for new hires, and advancing current staff.
- Assisting the Manager/Director in achieving departmental key performance indicators (KPIs) and participating in efforts to identify cost-saving opportunities and implement plans.
Planning:
- Forecasting demand levels for services and products.
- Utilizing inventory tools and techniques to ensure appropriate inventory sizing and availability. Ensuring inventory right-sizing for raw materials and purchased goods in transit.
- Planning, managing, and executing daily receiving activities, including documenting and enforcing receiving procedures and ensuring the protection and safe storage of all incoming products.
- Performing production planning based on forecasts and sales orders to ensure on-time delivery and maximize equipment efficiency.
- Entering sales orders and subsequent changes to ensure the timely delivery of customer requirements.
- Purchasing raw materials to meet production plans while maintaining reasonable days on hand.
- Communicating directly with customers to fulfil product, delivery, and planning requirements.
- Leading and participating in cross-functional department meetings to review and communicate the production plan.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business, or a related discipline.
- At least 5 years of experience in Supply Chain roles, including Purchasing, Warehouse, Logistics, and Planning in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet analysis, and MRP planning.
- Adequate proficiency in written and spoken English for clear communication and documentation.
- Possession of a forklift license.
