We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Design & Delivery, Solution Architect, and ESG to lead and oversee construction projects for our data centers in Thailand. This role will require direct collaboration with construction contractors, managing project timelines, budgets, quality, and ensuring that key performance metrics are met. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of both mechanical and electrical engineering principles as they relate to the construction of mission-critical infrastructure, as well as experience in leading projects with a strong focus on sustainability and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Oversight: Acting as the primary liaison with general contractors throughout all phases of the construction project, including bidding, award, execution, and project closeout/punch list.
- Contractor Management: Leading negotiations with general contractors, ensuring bids and proposals are evaluated with precision and accuracy. Managing the entire request for proposal (RFP) process.
- Scope and Financial Management: Developing comprehensive project scopes and RFPs. Performing financial analysis to ensure projects stay within budget, identifying potential cost-saving opportunities, and conducting detailed evaluations of contractor proposals.
- Resilience and Quality Control: Leading initiatives focused on increasing the resiliency of our data centers, ensuring adherence to strict quality control standards. Conducting constructability reviews of electrical and mechanical designs to optimize the performance of new or existing data centers.
- Reporting and Metrics: Tracking, analyzing, and reporting on key construction project metrics, ensuring effective communication with team members and management.
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience: Having a minimum of 10 years of experience in general contractor and vendor management, with a focus on construction project execution (including RFP processes, bidding, change orders, quality control, and RFI/submittal tracking).
- Leadership: Being a collaborative leader with a proven ability to engage with diverse teams and stakeholders at all levels of decision-making.
- Attention to Detail: Being highly detail-oriented with a demonstrated ability to self-motivate and manage multiple projects from start to finish.
- Technical Expertise: Having a strong understanding of electrical engineering principles (e.g., switch gear, UPS, transformers, circuit breakers) and mechanical engineering principles (e.g., cooling systems).
- Relevant Industry Experience: Having direct experience in the design and construction of data centers or critical infrastructure, as well as large-scale mechanical and electrical plants.
- Communication Skills: Possessing exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly present complex information and use data-driven insights to support decision-making.
- Value Engineering: Demonstrating a proven track record of successfully reducing costs through creative engineering solutions or construction methods while maintaining quality and reliability.
Desirable Skills:
- Having experience with ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) initiatives related to construction and infrastructure projects.
- Possessing a strong background in sustainability practices in the construction or data center industry.
