Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Automated Warehouse Manager to oversee the operations of our client’s automated warehouse systems in a fast-paced EMS environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for optimizing the performance of advanced storage and retrieval systems, ensuring seamless material flow, and maintaining high levels of inventory accuracy and operational efficiency. This role is pivotal in supporting our manufacturing processes and meeting customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Warehouse Operations:
- Managing daily operations of the automated warehouse, including inventory control, material handling, and order fulfilment.
- Ensuring smooth integration between warehouse systems and production schedules to meet delivery deadlines.
System Optimization:
- Monitoring and analyzing automated systems’ performance, identifying and implementing improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce downtime.
- Collaborating with IT and technical teams to troubleshoot and maintain warehouse management systems (WMS).
Team Leadership:
- Supervising, training, and mentoring warehouse staff, ensuring they are skilled in operating and maintaining automated systems.
- Developing and enforcing standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the warehouse team.
Inventory Management:
- Overseeing inventory accuracy through regular audits and cycle counts.
- Implementing strategies to minimize stock discrepancies and obsolescence.
Health & Safety:
- Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Identifying and mitigating risks associated with automated systems and warehouse operations.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Liaising with production, procurement, and logistics teams to ensure material availability and efficient workflows.
- Providing regular reports on warehouse performance, KPIs, and operational improvements to senior management.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience managing warehouse operations, preferably in an EMS or manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience with automated warehouse systems, including AS/RS, AGVs, and conveyors.
- Familiarity with ERP and WMS software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or equivalent).
Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent leadership and communication abilities.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Proficiency in inventory management practices and techniques.
Certifications (Preferred):
- APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM).
- Certification in warehouse automation technologies.
