Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The Sous Chef will support the Chef in daily kitchen operations, focusing on preparing high-quality dishes, managing kitchen staff, and ensuring smooth kitchen operations that meet the hotel's culinary standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting the Chef in managing daily kitchen operations and overseeing the kitchen staff.
- Ensuring the preparation and presentation of dishes are consistent, maintaining high quality and presentation standards.
- Upholding kitchen hygiene and safety standards to ensure a safe and clean working environment.
- Supervising, training, and mentoring junior kitchen staff to enhance their culinary skills and performance.
- Monitoring inventory, ordering supplies, and managing stock rotation to ensure proper kitchen organization.
- Stepping in for the Chef during their absence and managing kitchen operations effectively.
Qualifications:
- Education: Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience in a kitchen setting.
- Experience: A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a professional kitchen, with leadership or supervisory experience.
- Skills:
- Strong culinary skills with a keen attention to detail in food preparation and presentation.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
