Position Overview
The Director of Engineering is tasked with managing the engineering and maintenance operations of a 5-star hotel, ensuring that all equipment, systems, and infrastructure operate efficiently and safely. This leadership role involves guiding the engineering team, controlling budgets, and maintaining adherence to safety regulations and hotel standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing the maintenance, repair, and operation of hotel systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical infrastructure.
- Leading and supervising the engineering team, providing ongoing training and support.
- Planning and overseeing the department's budget to ensure cost-efficient operations.
- Establishing and enforcing safety procedures, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
- Collaborating with other departments to schedule maintenance and handle emergency repairs.
- Tracking energy consumption and implementing strategies to enhance efficiency and sustainability.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field.
- Experience:
- At least 7 years of experience in engineering management, including 3 years in a 5-star hotel environment.
- Skills:
- Proven leadership abilities with strong technical expertise and problem-solving skills.
- Comprehensive knowledge of building systems, safety standards, and energy management.
- Strong communication and budget management capabilities.
