Job Description:

The position specializes in raw material localization. Key responsibilities include identifying substitutes for imported parts in the Thai market to save costs and reduce material inbound expenses. Collaboration with engineering and quality control (QC) teams is essential to ensure that parts meet specifications. The role involves purchasing in compliance with corporate procurement procedures.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Identify and secure competitive bids for services, tooling, prototype components, and supplies to support material localization in adherence to ISO/TS 16949 standards.
  • Maintain and manage blanket purchase orders (POs).
  • Oversee and ensure adherence to the material localization schedule.
  • Implement cost-saving plans through localization and price negotiations with current suppliers.
  • Update and manage the ARC-China approved supplier list for localized parts.
  • Enter purchase orders and establish strong relationships with the supply base.
  • Coordinate with QA and Engineering on supplier-related issues.
  • Support research and development (R&D) activities to ensure timely market entry of new products.
  • Procure competitive bids for services, tooling, prototype components, and supplies to support plant operations.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering and maintenance teams to procure MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) parts, ensuring timely availability to avoid production downtime.
  • Track capital expenditures for projects and equipment, ensuring timely delivery.
  • Maintain the ARC-Knoxville approved supplier list and assist in raw material supplier selection. Conduct supplier audits with QA and Engineering support, maintaining ISO/TS 16949-compliant vendor files.
  • Resolve invoice discrepancies related to purchase orders.
  • Manage vendor performance through continuous improvement and cost-reduction plans.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Over 5 years of experience in material purchasing and procurement, specifically in steel commodities within the automotive manufacturing industry.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools (e.g., ERP systems, procurement platforms).
