Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced HSE Manager to lead and manage health, safety, and environmental functions while also overseeing utility operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, excellent English communication abilities, and the capability to collaborate effectively with other Heads of Departments (HODs) to ensure compliance, safety, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE)

  • Developing, implementing, and managing HSE policies, procedures, and systems in compliance with legal regulations and company standards.
  • Conducting risk assessments and ensuring that all safety measures are in place to mitigate workplace hazards.
  • Leading HSE audits and inspections, ensuring timely corrective actions and continuous improvement.
  • Promoting a safety culture through training programs, workshops, and regular communication.

Utility Management

  • Overseeing utility operations (e.g., electricity, water, and air systems) to ensure optimal efficiency and minimal downtime.
  • Monitoring and managing utility-related costs while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Collaborating with the maintenance team to ensure proper functioning and maintenance of utility systems.

Leadership and Collaboration

  • Acting as a central point of coordination for HSE initiatives across all departments.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with HODs to ensure alignment and cooperation on HSE goals.
  • Leading the HSE team, providing guidance, support, and performance management to achieve departmental objectives.
  • Preparing and presenting HSE reports to senior management, highlighting performance, challenges, and improvements.

Regulatory Compliance

  • Staying updated on local and international HSE regulations and ensuring the company’s full compliance.
  • Liaising with government authorities and external auditors as required.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 8 years of experience in HSE roles, preferably in the automotive or manufacturing industry.
    • Proven experience in managing utility operations is a strong advantage.
  • Skills:
    • Strong management and leadership abilities to influence and drive change across departments.
    • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
    • Solid understanding of HSE laws, regulations, and best practices.
    • Ability to analyze data and create actionable improvement plans.
