Job Description

  • Developing, implementing, and monitoring production schedules to meet customer demand and business targets.
  • Ensuring efficient allocation of resources, including manpower, materials, and machinery.
  • Managing production workflows and processes to optimize output and minimize downtime.
  • Adjusting production plans as necessary in response to unforeseen changes in orders or production capabilities.
  • Maintaining strict adherence to quality standards throughout the production process.
  • Collaborating with the quality control team to ensure all products meet or exceed customer specifications and regulatory standards.
  • Implementing continuous improvement strategies to enhance product quality and reduce waste.
  • Leading, coach, and develop the production team, including supervisors, machine operators, and other staff members.
  • Ensuring staff are trained in the latest production techniques, safety standards, and company policies.
  • Fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Monitoring production costs and implementing cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality.
  • Managing inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods to ensure a balance between cost and availability.
  • Working with the procurement team to negotiate with suppliers and maintain optimal stock levels.

  • Preparing regular production reports for senior management, detailing production performance, efficiency, and issues.
  • Maintaining accurate records of production activities, inventory levels, and quality control data.
  • Providing recommendations for improvements in production processes and machinery.
  • Working closely with departments such as procurement, logistics, quality control, and R&D to ensure seamless production operations.
  • Collaborating with sales and customer service teams to address customer needs and resolve issues related to production timelines or quality concerns.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Management, or a related field.
  • Over 5 years of experience in production management within the plastic packaging or manufacturing industry.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations.
  • Proficient in production planning software and ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP).
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to managing production challenges.
