Head of Risk (AVP)
Oversee and manage the company's risk management efforts comprehensively, addressing all risk types such as strategic, insurance, financial, operational, and legal compliance risks. Ensure risks are kept at acceptable levels and align with the established frameworks and policies. Assist all departments in effectively managing their own risks and foster a culture of risk awareness. Additionally, work to integrate governance and sound corporate oversight with operational monitoring and internal auditing.
Key Responsibilities
- Defining and reviewing the organization’s risk appetite and tolerance, as well as key risks, in alignment with the company's strategy and business objectives. Provide essential information to management and relevant committees.
- Coordinating and documenting meeting minutes and reports, presenting quarterly risk management results to the Risk Management Committee and Board of Directors.
- Preparing and reviewing current risk management documents, frameworks, policies, and operational manuals.
- Maintaining a Risk Register for enterprise-level and operational risks, ensuring effective management practices are in place.
- Analyzing data using various risk management tools, including early warning systems and loss data, and developing long-term prevention strategies.
- Preparing and reviewing crisis management and business continuity plans, conducting tests to ensure ongoing operations.
- Continuously training and communicating risk management concepts to staff, promoting a risk-aware culture through activities.
- Supporting the risk management team’s ongoing development and preparedness for new risks.
- Monitoring changes in laws and regulations related to risk management and communicating these to stakeholders, identifying emerging risks from external factors.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Insurance, Actuarial Science or related fields.
- At least 5 years of knowledge and experience in life or non-life insurance, including risk management standards and tools.
- Skills in analyzing financial, accounting, insurance, and statistical data, and creating mathematical or financial models.
- Good communication and presentation skills to work with different teams and explain risks to management.
- Intermediate English skills for writing documents and presenting to management and committees.
- A service-oriented attitude in providing advice and support to help teams manage their risks.
- Focus on results, leadership skills, and the ability to work well in a team.
