Responsibilities
The Cost Controller is responsible for developing, controlling, planning, and forecasting the budget, and ensuring they make sure that projects are completed within the approved budget and minimize the deflection from it.
The Cost Controller will have expertise in total cost management concepts, budget distribution, and setting a cost limit. They should also know how to detect issues, analyse cost reports, and value management. There will need to be a skillset to effectively communicate the project's cost performance, concerns, and recovery plans to the team.
- Improving production process by developing and implementing cost structure, then managing job-specific code of accounts by work centre.
- Preparing monthly write-up reports for the cost performance and budget performance.
- Identifying errors in work centre BOO/BOM and working with Engineering to correct them.
- Facilitating operating expense budgets, forecasts, variance comments, accruals, and reporting.
- Analyzing purchase order commitment to calculate accruals.
- Performing weekly/periodic physical inventory reconciliations.
- Participating in the development of unit standard costs, Factory & Labour Burdens and BOM for new and existing products.
- Creating detailed analysis and compilation of financial statements and multiple taxation reports.
- A strong comprehension of the ERP system to investigate and correct production parameters and extract reports for annual budget preparation.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Appropriate Certification in Finance.
- 5 years minimum experience in a Manufacturing environment.
- An ability to critique production data and generate cost centres with the support of Engineering.
- Analytical, strong communicator and pro-active team player.
