Job Description

Our client is a leading international subsea and offshore drilling services company for major oil and gas companies or their contractors. Their corporate headquarters is in Asia (Thailand). They have operational bases in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and the North Sea.

They are looking for a Tender Manager to support their growing organization with the preparation of tenders and visiting clients around the globe. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Handling Management of the Offshore Tendering process including supporting disciplines.
  • Preparing tenders in compliance with company policies and guidelines and client requirements.
  • Contributing to the bidding strategy.
  • Making recommendations for price levels of offshore tenders.
  • Overseeing correct qualification of tenders for consistency with company policies.
  • Preparing the assigned tenders.
  • Coordinating clarification process.
  • Leading contract negotiations in close cooperation with the responsible Business Acquisition Manager.
  • Reviewing tender specifications/customers’ requirements and creating a costing spread sheet that accurately reflects the scope of work and costing responsibilities coordinate for cost estimates.
  • Obtaining costs for each element on the scope of supply, either via historical data or requesting current prices and delivery from approved vendors and follow-up on requested quotes, negotiating best prices and delivery.
  • Evaluating and reviewing of vendor's technical proposal and commercial proposal to ensure compliance with the client's specifications.
  • Ensuring proposed pricing is in line with the overall win price, working closely with the external sales team.
  • Computing, comparing, and compiling vendors' proposals and making recommendations to gain executive management approval for customer submissions.
  • Assisting and following up on both pre and post-tender clarification.
  • Work as a team player and at the same time perform assigned duties or ad-hoc tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, or a related field. An engineering degree (Offshore, Civil, Aerospace, or Naval Engineering) is preferred.
  • Experience in offshore oil and gas and/or offshore renewable energy projects.
  • Experience in sales or tendering.
  • Flexible, stress-resistant with a strong work ethic and a hands-on approach.
  • Understanding of Offshore transport and installation operations for the subsea market and/or offshore wind market.
  • Appreciation of the risks of Offshore Construction operations.
  • Have the ability to translate our client’s needs into operational requirements.
  • Knowledge of the offshore construction market.
  • Fully conversant in English (verbally and in writing).
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project) or any other similar project/tender management applications.
  • Commercial acumen and Ability to assess and address risks.
  • Priority setting and strong focus on quality.
  • Pro-active coordinator.
