The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in project costing, financial analysis, and cost control, with experience in large-scale infrastructure or data centre projects. The Costing Manager will be working closely with project managers, finance teams, and stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered within budget and meet financial objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing and maintaining detailed cost plans and budgets for data centre projects, ensuring that all aspects of the project are accurately estimated and tracked.
  • Analyzing and tracking project costs throughout the entire lifecycle, from design through to construction and handover.
  • Working closely with project teams to review and assess any changes or variations to project scope and evaluating their impact on the project budget.
  • Monitoring project performance, ensuring that costs are controlled, and financial risks are identified and mitigated.
  • Preparing and presenting regular cost reports, including forecasting, cost-to-complete analysis, and variance reports, to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Guiding project managers on cost control processes and best practices for budget management.
  • Coordinating with procurement and contracts teams to review vendor and subcontractor pricing, ensuring competitiveness and alignment with the project budget.
  • Conducting cost benchmarking and value engineering exercises to identify opportunities for cost optimization and efficiency improvements without compromising on quality.
  • Overseeing the preparation of payment schedules, invoicing, and financial reconciliation with contractors and suppliers.
  • Ensuring all cost-related documents and records are accurately maintained and comply with company policies and auditing standards.
  • Collaborating with the finance team to ensure that project costs are correctly allocated and aligned with the company’s financial reporting and forecasting systems.
  • Monitoring and reporting on capital expenditure and ensuring that it aligns with budget constraints and financial objectives.
  • Supporting project teams in cost-related decision-making, providing insights into financial performance and cost optimization strategies.
  • Identifying and addressing cost-related issues early, providing solutions to minimize financial risks or budget overruns.
  • Leading the review and audit of final project accounts, ensuring all costs are captured, documented, and reconciled.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in costing, financial management, or cost control in large-scale infrastructure or data centre projects.
  • Strong knowledge of cost estimation techniques, financial analysis, and cost control processes.
  • Experience in working with project management teams to develop, manage, and monitor project budgets.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to tight deadlines and budget constraints.
  • Solid understanding of construction contracts, procurement processes, and vendor negotiations.
  • Strong Excel skills, including proficiency with financial modelling, cost tracking, and reporting tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal teams, clients, and external vendors.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills, with a focus on cost optimization and risk management.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of cost management processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the data centre industry or with similar critical infrastructure projects.
  • Familiarity with cost management software tools (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, or similar).
  • Professional certifications such as MRICS, RICS, or equivalent.
