Job Description
Our client is one of the largest EMS industries and is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineering Manager.
This role is ideal for a professional with a strong background in supplier quality management and engineering within the manufacturing or electronics industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establishing and maintaining systems to ensure suppliers provide materials that meet company requirements.
- Managing technical resources to evaluate and resolve material quality issues with suppliers and customers.
- Ensuring that materials meet specifications for components and parts from local and overseas suppliers.
- Reviewing and accepting Material First Article Inspection Reports.
- Supporting supplier quality system development and audits.
- Handling supplier corrective action responses.
- Administering supplier process control (PCP) and general inspection plans (GIP).
- Supporting non-conforming materials reviews.
- Ensuring parts from suppliers meet company and customer quality requirements.
- Solving problems related to material quality issues.
- Managing the supplier quality engineering staff and overseeing their performance.
- Reviewing and approving material FAI qualifications.
- Coordinating and communicating with customers and suppliers to resolve technical material issues.
- Establishing PCP and GIP with suppliers.
- Reviewing supplier ratings in terms of quality.
- Participating in supplier audits or quality system development.
- Providing supplier quality assessments to purchasing or sourcing departments.
- Reviewing and approving material First Article qualifications.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related Engineering field.
- At least 8-10 years of experience in IQA or SQE functions, with 2-4 years in a management position.
- Strong English communication skills.
- Knowledge of materials and material manufacturing processes.
- Ability to read and interpret material drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of material standards, testing methods, and inspection equipment.
- Experience with QMS knowledge and maintenance.
- Familiarity with core tools (FMEA, Control Plan, MSA, etc.) and risk assessments is preferred.
