Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior HSE Officer to oversee and manage health, safety, and environmental (HSE) activities across four manufacturing facilities. The successful candidate will lead a small team, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and company standards, and driving a culture of safety excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
HSE Management:
- Developing, implementing, and maintaining HSE policies, procedures, and programs in alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Conducting regular risk assessments, hazard identification, and safety audits across all four facilities.
- Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of HSE initiatives and making recommendations for continuous improvement.
Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensuring compliance with local laws, regulations, and international standards relevant to the automotive manufacturing industry.
- Preparing and submitting required HSE reports to regulatory bodies and senior management.
- Maintaining up-to-date documentation for audits and certifications.
Team Leadership:
- Supervising and guiding a team of two HSE professionals.
- Training, mentoring, and evaluating team members to ensure their professional development and alignment with company goals.
Incident Management:
- Leading investigations into accidents, incidents, and near-misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Developing and overseeing emergency response plans and procedures.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborating with other departments to integrate HSE practices into daily operations.
- Acting as the primary point of contact for HSE-related matters with external auditors, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
Training and Awareness:
- Designing and delivering HSE training programs for employees and contractors.
- Promoting awareness and fostering a safety-first culture throughout the organization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in HSE roles within the automotive Tier 1 manufacturing industry.
- Proven track record of stability (not a job hopper).
- Strong knowledge of HSE regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Experience managing multiple sites and leading teams.
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
- Proficiency in HSE software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Certification as a Safety Officer at a professional level is required.
- In-depth knowledge and experience with ISO 45001 standards.
