Our client, a leading automotive manufacturer in the Eastern Seaboard area, is looking for an Advanced Manufacturing Manager to join their dynamic, talented team to grow the business in Thailand.
Job Responsibilities:
- Process Optimization:
- Leading and implementing initiatives to enhance manufacturing processes, ensuring quality, efficiency, and consistency.
- Analyzing production workflows and identifying bottlenecks to drive improvements and meet key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Equipment and Machine Improvement:
- Overseeing the design, modification, and installation of advanced manufacturing equipment and machinery.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to select and implement cutting-edge technology to support production goals.
- Developing and maintaining preventative maintenance programs for all manufacturing equipment.
- Cost Optimization:
- Analyzing production costs and implementing cost-saving initiatives while maintaining product quality.
- Leading value engineering projects to optimize material usage and reduce wastage in manufacturing.
- Ensuring alignment with the company's budgetary goals through effective resource planning.
- Cycle Time Reduction:
- Designing and implementing strategies to minimize cycle times in production processes.
- Introducing lean manufacturing principles and tools to enhance productivity.
- Working closely with production teams to ensure the timely delivery of products without compromising quality.
- Labor Efficiency:
- Analyzing workforce productivity and recommending solutions to enhance labour efficiency.
- Introducing automation and other technologies to optimize human resource allocation.
- Developing and implementing training programs to ensure workforce alignment with advanced manufacturing processes.
- New Product Introduction (NPI):
- Acting as a key stakeholder in the New Product Introduction (NPI) process, ensuring manufacturing readiness.
- Establishing manufacturing processes and layouts for new products while collaborating with product design teams.
- Compliance and Standards:
- Ensuring all manufacturing processes comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements, such as IATF 16949, ISO 14001, or equivalent.
- Conducting risk assessments, such as FMEA, and ensuring adherence to safety and quality protocols.
- Team Leadership and Development:
- Leading and mentoring a team of manufacturing engineers and technicians to achieve departmental objectives.
- Fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team.
- Data-Driven Decision Making:
- Using data analytics and KPIs to monitor and evaluate manufacturing performance.
- Preparing detailed reports and presenting findings to senior management with actionable recommendations.
Qualifications and Skills
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Experience:
- Minimum of 15 years in manufacturing engineering roles within the automotive sector.
- Proven track record of success in process optimization, equipment improvement, and cost reduction initiatives.
- Technical Expertise:
- Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies.
- Familiarity with automation, robotics, and advanced manufacturing technologies.
- Hands-on experience with CAD, CAM, and production simulation software.
- Leadership Skills:
- Excellent team management and mentoring abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Other Skills:
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and production tracking systems.
