Job Description
Our client is a leading global manufacturer of automotive accessories.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing all quality-related issues within the manufacturing team (e.g., internal, supplier, customer, and customer warranty).
- Managing and coordinating customer claims, problem-solving, cost recovery, customer warranty, and customer quality audits.
- Identifying root causes and instigating permanent corrective actions for product quality issues.
- Working with internal and external stakeholders to resolve quality issues quickly and efficiently, preventing the compromise of quality and safety standards.
- Carrying out product and process auditing.
- Ensuring that control plans and associated documentation are implemented effectively and maintained.
- Monitoring and reporting on quality-related key performance indicators, including scrap monitoring, rework levels, and parts per million (PPM) figures.
- Stopping production in the event of manufacturing unacceptable goods or processes.
- Ensuring compliance with and assisting in adherence to the Quality Management system (IATF 16949 / ISO9001).
- Writing product inspection/testing procedures and/or work instructions.
- Reporting on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure process adherence and prevent non-conformities related to product, process, or system.
- Participating in cross-functional teams for the development of new products or changes related to current products in meeting customer requirements.
- Participating in the development and refinement of Process FMEAs (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis).
- Conducting quality control through appropriate reviews.
- Producing written reports and making presentations.
- Independently determining the approach and assigned tasks.
- Applying prior experience as a Quality Manager in a production processing environment.
- Being familiar with company and industry quality standards and processes.
- Applying strong knowledge of IATF 16949 and VDA requirements.
- Demonstrating strong knowledge of tools such as APQP, FMEA, PPAP, SPC, and MSA.
- Understanding ISO 14001 and Health and Safety Practices.
- Using knowledge of measurement systems.
- Working effectively in a diverse and dynamic environment.
- Presenting data effectively.
- Applying problem-solving skills and Six Sigma principles.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in an Engineering field.
- At least 7 years of experience as a Quality Manager in the automotive industry.
- Experience in the European automotive manufacturing industry is an advantage.
- A solid background in IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and VDA 6.3 Process Audit Certification is an advantage.
- Experience working across multiple time zones with a global workforce.
