Job Summary
The Construction Site Manager will oversee on-site construction activities for Data Center projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality and safety standards. This role requires 10-15 years of experience managing complex construction sites, ideally within Data Centers or mission-critical environments. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of construction and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Site Management and Coordination
- Overseeing daily construction activities, ensuring all work aligns with project plans, specifications, and timelines.
- Coordinating with contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to maintain efficient workflows and adherence to schedules.
- Project Planning and Scheduling
- Working closely with project management teams to develop, adjust, and monitor project schedules.
- Tracking progress against milestones, and proactively addressing any delays or issues to keep the project on schedule.
- Quality Control and Compliance
- Ensuring all construction activities meet quality standards, and conducting inspections to verify compliance with specifications.
- Implementing and upholding industry standards and best practices for data centre construction, ensuring work meets regulatory requirements.
- Safety and Risk Management
- Leading on-site safety programs and enforcing strict adherence to safety protocols to create a secure working environment.
- Conducting regular safety briefings, inspections, and risk assessments, addressing any potential hazards or violations.
- Budget and Resource Management
- Monitoring project costs, materials, and labour utilization to stay within budget.
- Reviewing and approving daily logs, resource allocation, and equipment usage to optimize cost efficiency.
- Issue Resolution and Problem-Solving
- Serving as the point of contact for resolving on-site issues, troubleshooting and providing solutions to minimize project disruptions.
- Collaborating with engineering, commissioning, and project management teams to address construction challenges as they arise.
- Reporting and Documentation
- Maintaining accurate records of site activities, including daily logs, progress reports, and any incidents.
- Providing regular project updates to stakeholders, highlighting progress, challenges, and mitigation strategies.
- Stakeholder Coordination
- Liaising with project managers, architects, engineers, and client representatives to ensure alignment on project goals.
- Facilitating site visits and inspections with stakeholders, addressing questions and providing project insights.
Requirements
- 10-15 years of experience in construction site management, with a focus on Data Centers or mission-critical facilities.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to managing complex projects.
- Proficient in construction management software and scheduling tools.
