Position Overview

The Technical Director will lead the Research & Development (R&D), laboratory services, and Application/Pilot development, driving new product innovations (NPI) in chemical coatings. This role is critical in ensuring that the company remains at the forefront of surface finishing technologies across industries, including PCBA, automotive components, and industrial applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • R&D Leadership: Leading and managing the R&D team, driving innovative chemical coatings solutions tailored for the company’s diverse industrial client base.
  • Product Development: Overseeing the full product lifecycle from lab conception to pilot development, ensuring smooth NPI processes. Collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure product quality, feasibility, and commercialisation.
  • Laboratory Services: Managing laboratory operations to maintain cutting-edge technology in surface finishing, ensuring timely and high-quality services to clients.
  • Continuous Improvement: Driving process enhancements and technological advancements in product development, ensuring the company remains a leader in its field.
  • Collaboration and Strategy: Working closely with the company's President and regional teams (including Indonesia and Vietnam) to ensure strategic alignment and execution of product innovations and market expansion.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring that all products and development processes comply with applicable safety, environmental, and quality standards, including ISO certifications.
  • Mentorship & Team Development: Fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation, mentoring team members to achieve their potential and contribute to the company’s growth.

Qualifications

  • Education: Master's or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Manufacturing, or related fields, with a focus on chemical coatings or surface finishing.
  • Experience: At least 15 years of experience in chemical manufacturing, surface finishing, or related fields. Strong background in inorganic and electrochemistry is highly desirable.
  • Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of R&D processes, electrochemistry, and chemical coatings. Experience with ISO certifications and safety standards.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead teams, manage projects, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve results.
  • Languages: Proficiency in English is essential. Other regional languages (such as Thai or Vietnamese) would be an advantage.
