Our client is a leading speciality chemical company.
Responsibilities
- Supporting the manufacturing productivity improvement process and coordinating the implementation of management of change processes.
- Supporting the introduction of new materials, products, and processes in close cooperation with the technology teams.
- Initiating, prioritizing, implementing and measuring the effectiveness of improvement projects for EHS, quality, and productivity on an ongoing basis.
- Actively supporting team efforts to follow up on and establish the root causes of all non-conforming products and implement corrective actions.
- Being a standby for the Production Team and being available for out-of-hours contact to support the manufacturing operations.
- Developing and maintaining excellent working relationships with contractors, suppliers, support services and vendors.
- Developing and maintaining excellent communications and working relationships with employees, especially those aligned with manufacturing operations.
- Enhancing contributions to the business on an ongoing basis by developing skills, personal involvement, and the willingness to diversify in the present position.
- Providing experience, preparing and delivering technical training to engineers and technicians.
- Becoming familiar with, and learning the fundamentals of products, processes and manufacturing systems to a high degree of competency.
- Demonstrating an excellent level of personal involvement and awareness in all Environmental, Health & Safety matters.
- Participating in ISO/TS16494, ISO9001 and ISO14001 activities and the implementation of related processes and supporting the Quality Management Systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or chemical technology or any related field.
- Minimum of 3 - 5 years experience in a chemical manufacturing or project implementation environment.
- A technical background in the chemical and consumer process-related sectors is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of process-related equipment such as DCS systems is required.
