Our client is a leather and textile designer & manufacturer.
Responsibilities
- Supporting teams concerning the launch of new products and engineering changes, and, continuously ensuring manufacturing readiness and productivity improvements.
- Evaluating, developing, introducing and preparing necessary equipment, tools, parts, materials, specs and procedures for assembly processes.
- Testing the functions and the overall performance of machines as well as performing factory acceptance tests.
- Identifying innovative solutions to manufacturing problems.
- Participating in technical feasibility studies, FMEAs, verification of equipment versus standards and safety assessments.
- Managing process improvement activities (equipment cycle time reduction, manpower efficiency, process capability improvement).
- Performing assembly work based on plans from the Engineering, Mechanical and Electrical departments.
- Effectively communicating with both internal and external customers, suppliers and vendors to determine project requirements, coordinate project activities and provide relevant direction.
- Guiding assemblers during project buildup and testing.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or any related field.
- At least 5 years experience in forming steel, metal sheets, machine makers or complex industries.
- Good experience relating to the fabrication process (lasers, Wood Cutting, Foam, Fabric and Sewing presses) is highly desirable.
- Good knowledge of quality systems, QC tools, statistical techniques, and problem-solving.
- Good human relations, a positive attitude, good planning, decision-making and communication skills, and knowledge of problem-solving techniques.
- Good command of English, both written and spoken, with good computer proficiency.
