Our client specializes in the manufacturing of compressor systems.

Position Overview:

Reporting to the Application Manager, the Application Engineer will take full responsibility for handling one or more projects from the bidding stage until the handover of these projects to the execution team.

Responsibilities:

• Attending sales handover, client kick-off, and internal/external technical/project meetings.
• Supporting technical adjudication and negotiation of vendor offers for equipment.
• Preparing proposals, datasheets, drawings, etc., for new project bidding.
• Designing reciprocating compressors as per project requirements.
• Reviewing customer requisitions and project specifications.
• Responding to the customer’s technical questions and clarifications.
• Handling commercial bid clarification meetings.
• Preparing reciprocating compressor package cost estimation.
• Preparing material requisitions for equipment and dealing with suppliers.
• Coordinating with the head office for technical finalization of compressor design.
• Coordinating and supporting other departments during the project execution period.
• Hand over the project to the execution team.
• Clarifying budget deviations and improvements as lessons learned.
• Being fully conversant with the integration of multi-discipline engineering solutions and associated deliverables (including Process, Civil, Piping, E+I, and Mechanical).
• Being competent in carrying out design activities in the Design-Check-Approve-Authorize cycle and checking the technical deliverables of designers.
• Having general knowledge of other related disciplines.
• Working efficiently and effectively when managing multiple tasks. Must be self-motivated, results-oriented, and flexible to work well under tight schedules in a fast-paced multi-disciplinary team environment.
• Demonstrating excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Demonstrating excellent problem-solving, initiative, and analytical skills.
• Being fully conversant with basic project management principles.
• Managing project stakeholders, including clients, sub-vendors, and third-party consultants.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering.
• Male or female, 28 - 36 years old.
• A minimum of 3-8 years of working experience as an Application Engineer in the oil and gas industry.
• Fluency in English, both spoken and written.
• Proficiency in MS Office, MS Outlook, and MS Project.
• Preferably with knowledge of static, rotating equipment, as well as instruments/control systems.
• Knowledge of basic engineering design/fabrication work, instrumentation, and international standards like ASME, ASTM, API, and TEMA will be an advantage.
