Position Summary:
We are seeking a hands-on Senior EHS Specialist to join a leading food manufacturing company. The successful candidate will be crucial in ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) standards while working closely with production teams. This position reports to the EHS Manager and supervises an EHS Specialist.
Key Responsibilities:
- EHS Program Implementation:
- Developing, implementing, and maintaining EHS policies and procedures in line with GMP and regulatory requirements.
- Conducting regular risk assessments, audits, and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance.
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety and environmental performance.
- Compliance and Standards:
- Ensuring adherence to local and international EHS regulations and standards.
- Preparing and maintaining documentation for audits and certifications.
- Supporting the implementation of global EHS initiatives and standards within the local context.
- Production Line Management:
- Overseeing and managing EHS activities on the production floor, ensuring compliance and fostering a safety-first culture.
- Providing guidance and supervision to production staff on EHS matters.
- Conducting training sessions to promote awareness and adherence to safety protocols among employees.
- Incident Management:
- Investigating accidents, incidents, and near-misses to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
- Developing and implementing emergency response plans and procedures.
- Collaboration and Reporting:
- Working closely with cross-functional teams to integrate EHS practices into daily operations.
- Collaborating with global counterparts to align with corporate EHS strategies and objectives.
- Reporting on EHS metrics and progress to management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in EHS roles within FMCG or food manufacturing industries.
- Strong knowledge of GMP standards and best practices.
- Experience working in a global company environment.
- Proven ability to manage and control production line activities with a hands-on approach.
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively handle staff in a production setting.
