Key Responsibilities:

  • Packaging Development: Leading the design and development of innovative packaging solutions for new and existing skincare products, ensuring functionality, protection, and aesthetic appeal.
  • Material Selection: Evaluating and selecting appropriate packaging materials based on performance, sustainability, cost, and compatibility with product formulations.
  • Prototyping & Testing: Overseeing the creation of packaging prototypes and conducting testing to assess durability, functionality, compatibility, and compliance with regulations.
  • Sustainability Initiatives: Contributing to the development of sustainable packaging strategies, focusing on reducing environmental impact through material innovation, recyclability, and the reduction of packaging waste.
  • Collaboration: Working closely with marketing, product development, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to ensure packaging meets project timelines and budgetary constraints.
  • Compliance & Regulations: Ensuring packaging designs adhere to local and international regulations, including safety standards, labelling requirements, and environmental regulations.
  • Supplier Management: Managing relationships with packaging suppliers, negotiating costs, and ensuring the timely delivery of packaging components.
  • Cost Optimization: Monitoring and evaluating packaging costs, and finding opportunities to optimize without compromising quality or consumer experience.
  • Trend Research: Staying updated on industry trends, packaging innovations, and consumer preferences to ensure packaging solutions are cutting-edge and competitive in the market.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Industrial Design, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in packaging design or R&D, preferably within the cosmetics or FMCG industry.
  • Strong understanding of packaging materials (plastics, glass, metals, paperboard, etc.) and their compatibility with cosmetic products.
  • Knowledge of packaging testing methodologies, including drop tests, pressure testing, and stability studies.
