Position Summary:

The chief maintenance role in the packaging industry is to lead and oversee all maintenance activities across production lines and machinery. The role involves ensuring that machinery and equipment operate optimally, minimizing downtime, and enhancing productivity. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, hands-on experience in mechanical and reliability maintenance engineering, and a deep understanding of machinery, toolmaking, and hydraulic systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading Maintenance Efforts: Leading the maintenance team to develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance strategies across all machinery, tools, and hydraulic systems.
  • Ensuring Equipment Reliability: Managing and monitoring the condition of production machinery, providing proactive solutions to avoid downtime and production interruptions.
  • Maintaining International Standards: Overseeing maintenance processes to comply with international maintenance standards, ensuring all equipment and processes meet quality and regulatory requirements.
  • Implementing Condition-Based Predictive Maintenance: Implementing condition-based predictive maintenance techniques, including regular monitoring, diagnostics, and adjusting maintenance schedules based on real-time equipment data.
  • Improving MTBF: Focusing on increasing Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) by continuously improving maintenance practices, performing root cause analysis, and suggesting corrective actions to minimize equipment failures.
  • Driving Continuous Improvement: Collaborating with other departments to identify and address issues affecting machinery performance, proposing solutions to improve production efficiency and reduce maintenance costs.
  • Managing the Team: Supervising and mentoring a team of maintenance engineers and technicians, ensuring the development and upskilling of team members.
  • Reporting and Documenting Maintenance Activities: Maintaining detailed records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and repairs. Preparing and presenting maintenance reports to upper management.
  • Ensuring Safety and Compliance: Ensuring all maintenance activities are performed in compliance with health and safety standards, promoting a safe working environment for the team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
  • At least 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with at least 3 years in reliability maintenance, condition-based maintenance, Predictive Maintenance, MTBF, and MTBR.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency with maintenance management software and tools.
  • Good command of English.
