Our client is a leading global manufacturer of automotive accessories.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing all quality-related issues within the manufacturing team (e.g., internal, supplier, customer, and customer warranty issues).
- Managing and coordinating customer claims, problem-solving, timely resolution, cost recovery, customer warranty, and customer quality audits.
- Identifying root causes and initiating permanent corrective actions for product quality issues.
- Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to resolve quality issues as quickly and efficiently as possible, ensuring that quality and safety standards are maintained.
- Conducting product and process audits.
- Ensuring that control plans and associated documentation are effectively implemented and maintained.
- Monitoring and reporting on quality-related key performance indicators (KPIs), including scrap rates, rework levels, and parts per million (PPM) figures.
- Stopping production in the event of the manufacture of unacceptable goods or processes.
- Ensuring compliance with, and assisting in adherence to, the Quality Management System (IATF 16949 / ISO9001).
- Writing product inspection/testing procedures and work instructions.
- Reporting on KPIs to ensure adherence to processes and prevent non-conformities related to product, process, or system.
- Participating in cross-functional teams for the development of new products or changes to existing products to meet customer requirements.
- Contributing to the development and refinement of Process FMEAs (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis).
- Assisting in training programs to raise quality awareness.
- Conducting quality control reviews of work.
- Attending various meetings and communicating action items and instructions.
- Producing written reports and making presentations.
- Independently determining the approach to assigned tasks.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or higher in an engineering field.
- At least 10 years of experience in quality management within the automotive industry.
- Experience in the European automotive manufacturing industry is an advantage.
- Solid background in IATF 16949, VDA, and ISO 14001.
- IATF 16949 Lead Auditor / VDA 6.3 Process Audit certification is an advantage.
- Knowledge of quality systems.
- Prior experience as a quality manager in a production environment.
- Familiar with company and industry quality standards and processes.
- Strong knowledge of IATF 16949 and VDA requirements.
- Strong knowledge of core tools (APQP, FMEA, PPAP, SPC, and MSA).
- Understanding of ISO 14001 and health and safety practices.
- Knowledge of measurement systems.
- Ability to work in a diverse and dynamic environment.
- Ability to present data effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills / Six Sigma expertise.
