We are looking for a Product Costing Manager who is responsible for managing and overseeing product costing activities in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Cost Analysis and Management
- Developing, maintaining, and updating costing models and product cost structures.
- Conducting detailed cost analysis for products, materials, labour, and overheads to ensure accuracy in product costing.
- Analyzing production processes to identify and recommend cost-saving opportunities and improvements.
- Budgeting and Forecasting
- Preparing and managing annual budgets, forecasts, and standard costs for products.
- Monitoring and report on cost variances and analyze the impact on the overall financial performance.
- Working closely with finance teams to support accurate financial reporting.
- Inventory and BOM Management
- Overseeing Bill of Materials (BOM) costing, updates, and adjustments as necessary.
- Ensuring accurate inventory valuation and management, including cycle counts and stock take analysis.
- Collaborating with procurement to manage and monitor raw material costs and supplier pricing fluctuations.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partnering with production, R&D, procurement, and finance departments to drive efficient cost management.
- Supporting product pricing strategies by providing cost-related insights and reports to guide pricing decisions.
- Conducting regular reviews and audits of product costs and providing recommendations to senior management.
- Process Improvement and Compliance
- Implementing best practices in costing and cost control procedures.
- Ensuring compliance with industry standards and internal policies related to costing and inventory management.
- Continuously improving costing processes to enhance data accuracy, efficiency, and reporting quality.
- Reporting and Analysis
- Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual cost reports and presenting findings to management.
- Tracking and monitoring key cost drivers and preparing analysis for product cost variances.
- Providing insights and recommendations for cost reduction, efficiency improvement, and profitability enhancement.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in product costing in the manufacturing industry.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy in data management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work across teams.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
