Job Description
Our client owns and operates transmission and distribution networks, delivering electricity and gas to households and businesses in Singapore.
What You’ll Do
- Safety Management:
- Developing and implementing site-specific safety plans and procedures for the solar project.
- Conducting regular safety inspections and audits on the project site to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Ensuring that all safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE) are provided, maintained, and used correctly by all personnel on-site.
- Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
- Identifying potential hazards and assessing the risks associated with different activities on the solar project.
- Developing and implementing measures to mitigate identified risks, ensuring that safety precautions are in place and followed.
- Training and Awareness:
- Organizing and conducting safety training sessions for workers, including new employee orientation, refresher courses, and specific training related to solar energy projects.
- Promoting safety awareness among all project personnel, including subcontractors, through toolbox talks, safety meetings, and other initiatives.
- Incident Management:
- Investigating all incidents, accidents, and near-misses on the project site to determine their causes and recommend preventive measures.
- Maintaining accurate records of all incidents and safety-related activities, ensuring timely reporting to the management team and relevant authorities.
- Compliance:
- Ensuring compliance with local, national, and international safety regulations and standards, including occupational health and safety laws.
- Liaising with government and regulatory bodies as required to maintain compliance.
- Emergency Preparedness:
- Developing and maintaining emergency response plans for the solar project, including procedures for fire, medical emergencies, and other potential incidents.
- Conducting regular emergency drills to ensure readiness and effectiveness of response plans.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Preparing and submitting regular safety reports to the project management team, highlighting key safety issues, trends, and recommendations.
- Maintaining comprehensive documentation of safety inspections, audits, training sessions, and incidents.
What You’ll Need
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Certification in safety management (in Thailand industrial practice) is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a safety role, preferably in the construction or renewable energy sector.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations and standards applicable to solar energy projects.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and influence others.
- Can accept a 1-year contract.
