Job Description

Our client is a leading electronic automotive manufacturing supplier. 

Key Responsibilities

The position is responsible for leading and guiding all aspects of the Manufacturing Business Unit for the Thailand manufacturing plant, driving all kinds of program launches successfully in the Thailand plant to well meet customer satisfaction. The position reports to the Sr. Director of Operations, and lead plant project management team and tooling design team. 

  • Managing electronics product program launches.
  • Communicating with customers on launch status, meeting customers' satisfaction and gaining customers’ approval.
  • Working with OEM customers and market research to develop long-term sales forecasts for each product to reduce unnecessary stocks in the Thailand plant and increase inventory turns.
  • Providing introductions and opportunities for the sales team and other teams to interact with customers on all appropriate levels.
  • Actively seeking opportunities for the Thailand plant to expand our business with all customers.
  • Fostering a positive environment to create a high-performance team; leading and coaching team members in the right direction and doing the right things, and keeping team with high morale.
  • Leading standardization and improvement for plant, to smoothen plant project management process and procedure through PV, SOP launching, SOP and EOL.
  • Defining tasks to be performed by the cross-functional team during launch.
  • Using a task list to create a work breakdown structure.
  • Using work breakdown structure to establish program schedule.
  • Ensuring prompt decision-making is executed by promoting consensus decisions, interviewing when consensus decision-making fails, and making unilateral decisions in the case of a deadlock.
  • Leading team meetings by establishing an agenda, monitoring discussion to ensure adherence to agenda, promoting a free exchange of ideas, challenging the pre-conceptions of team members, finishing the meeting in a timely fashion, and publishing meeting minutes.
  • Establishing and managing the project budget.
  • Interacting with all internal functions and negotiating resource allocations from functional managers.
  • When a resource conflict occurs, negotiate a solution with functional managers.
  • Serving as lead project interface with customers.
  • Identifying program issues as early as possible and driving resolution at the team level.
  • Being responsible for business planning for existing businesses and uncovering new opportunities.
  • Communicating information across customer organizations and organizations.
  • Working closely with PM to ensure the development proceeds in line with operation strategy, such as new product launch site selection, etc.
  • Working in conjunction with the OEM project team, Production Planning and Vehicle Operations to increase sales volume.
  • Developing a marketing strategy that effectively markets the organization and educates our customers on our various brands and technologies and their functionality.
  • Managing back-end Thailand plant operational issues to front-end corporate sales and marketing.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 15 years of related experience in automotive disciplines (e.g. Engineering, Technical Management, Quality, Manufacturing, etc.).
  • Experience in Electronic Automotive Manufacturing is an advantage.
  • Having experience in project design in automotive.
  • Knowing APQP, and PPAP.
  • Knowing TS 16949.
  • Knowledge of project cost management.
