Corporate Affairs Country Lead – FMCG Food

Company Background

Our client is a global leading FMCG food company and now seeking a suitable candidate for the position of Corporate Affairs Country Lead.

Job Description:

 

•​ Lead all aspects of the Corporate Affairs agendas in Thailand including government affairs, regulatory affairs and complaint & crisis management.

•​ Managing & overseeing Corporate Affairs function across Thailand ensuring alignment across the markets, with local business leaders, and Global Corporate Affairs.

•​ Supporting the growth and success of company businesses by managing regulatory, consumer, and reputational risks related to key public policy issues.

•​ Leading external engagement on key public policy issues and proactively communicate company positions and strategy as well as leading internal and external communications, positioning of company and its local brands with influencers, stakeholders and more broadly through traditional and social media, events, stakeholder engagement.

•​ Taking role to represent the company before public officials/regulators and in external forums on critical issues for the food and beverage industry.

•​ Participating in industry coalitions, negotiate industry positions/policies, and help build consensus consistent with company global corporate view and the company Positive agenda.

•​ Representing the Corporate Affairs function in internal meetings and committees and maintain strong internal communications across key businesses and departments. Maintain strong interaction and internal coordination with Subject Matter Experts at both local and global levels, including Sustainability, Operations, Procurement and Legal functions, reviewing and prioritizing issues, setting strategies and devising action plans to address packaging policy issues.

•​ Taking the critical role in the department’s global-to-local model by leveraging global insights in the development of market-level policy and communications solutions and provide the global office with timely monitoring of key developments.

 

 

 

Qualifications:

​ Male or female, aged 35-45 years old with mature & pleasant personality.

​ Master's degree in public policy, sustainability policy, or equivalent preferred.

​ Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in Corporate Affairs that covering public policy, government affairs, CSR and external communication from food & beverage or related industry with solid track record of achievements.

​ Possess of solid experience in senior management level.

​ Strong knowledge of public policy issues affecting the food and beverage industry specifically in relation to regulatory policy trends and developments, including an understanding of and ability to speak on leading approaches regulation.

​ Must be willing to travel internationally and operate in different countries.

​ Strong leadership skills to set and drive an agenda, including ability to prioritize a range of complex issues and adapt quickly.

​  Ability to build relationships, manage collaboration, and develop and manage coalitions.

​ Strong negotiation skills to manage external and internal stakeholders.

​ Ability to communicate (written and oral) on critical issues with senior management, policymakers and leading NGOs, including writing ability to develop policies and frame issues.

​ Must have ability to work independently and efficiently with little supervision.

​ Willingness to learn and expand into key public policy areas.

​ Able to navigate ambiguity and work within a matrixed team/organization.

​ Excellent English communication.
