Our client is a leading logistics provider.
The Operations Manager will handle the key responsibilities as follows:
- Achieving daily shift targets for all warehouse activities, and coordinating these activities across all departments to meet their targets.
- Supervising employees to ensure compliance with rules, regulations, instructions, orders, and safety measures at work.
- Agreeing on standards with superiors regarding productivity and quality; advising the team of the required standards and ensuring relevant actions are taken, addressing any weaknesses indicated by the warehouse supervisor and/or team leader.
- Producing plans related to staff, resources, productivity, and volume.
- Planning and controlling inventory, including cycle counts, stock management, stock investigation, and stock adjustments.
- Providing leadership, direction, and clear communication of expectations and objectives to ensure optimum efficiency and quality levels.
- Initiating problem-solving techniques to rectify quality and production issues.
- Managing the workforce to achieve optimum levels of quality and output in our client's manufacturing processes.
- Continuously assessing and developing production processes, planning, and monitoring production levels and volume targets.
- Controlling waste reduction management and implementing processes to standardize methods.
- Leading problem-solving efforts to improve quality and eliminate waste in all manufacturing areas.
- Making strategic decisions, considering immediate and long-term implications, benefits, costs, and risks associated with decision alternatives.
Qualifications:
- Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics Management/Supply Chain Management, Economics, Industrial Engineering, or any related field.
- Proven experience as an Operations Manager or in a relevant position, managing a large group of staff (100–200 people).
- At least 5 years of related working experience in an international environment, with experience in the automotive industry being an advantage.
- Knowledge of import-export, customs, freight forwarding, or supply chain management processes.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with strong initiative and problem-solving abilities.
- Must be mature, strong, and possess excellent people management skills to command and control the entire workforce.
